Meditation - The Gift Of Silence
Silence is a rare thing in modern day living. We're surrounded by noise, traffic and multiple modes of communication. Adverts scream at us from every hoarding and we're exhorted to spend all the money we have on things we don't even have a need for.We are all spiritual beings, if we could only hear and listen to our spirit in the middle of all that noise. We all have the chance to step back and see this chaos for the illusion that it really is and to connect with what truly matters in life.
Recognise that you need silence in your life. You need it to connect with your heart, and to be in touch with love and truth at its deepest level. You can take care of yourself by giving yourself time to hear the silence and to disconnect from all the distraction around you.
Taking time out every day for a period of quietness will be a source of strength and comfort to you, and will give you space to sit in peace.
Meditation will mean different things to different people. It can mean focusing the mind on a single thing. It can mean listening the in and out of breathing. It can simply mean sitting quietly, stilling your mind to the outside world, and taking the time for deep reflection.
There are no rules. There is no membership to the beauty of meditation. It is a solace that we can all experience and which can give us the chance to open our hearts and minds fully to the possibilities of universal love and connection.
Meditation opens up a channel to the vibration of truth. It allows us the chance to hear our heart beat, to feel our blood flow and our gentle breathing. It reminds us that we are fragile beings who can be snuffed out like a tiny light and that we are not immortal - we are blood and bone and we are born to die.
There is nothing to fear in life or death. We can know that because fear is the illusion that controls our actions and expectations unless we see it for what it is. Let go of your thoughts as you meditate, and experience the freedom that letting go can give you.
Live in this moment. Live in the now. Connect to the rhythm of your heart and listen to the quiet voice of truth whispering in the silence.
